Should the ring be on the right or left hand? Should you have both an engagement ring AND a wedding ring? And what if you like to wear a lot of rings - then there's less room for all the other rings?
Many have these kinds of questions when it comes to engagement rings, but all these challenges can be solved by using the concept we've called “bridal sets”. These rings form a ring set where the bride's engagement ring is ”the big one”, often with one or more gemstones. At the wedding ceremony, she then receives an additional ring: but this new ring is a smaller, narrow ring that is adapted to the engagement ring so that it can lie very close to it - this we call a "companion ring". Together, the small wedding ring and the larger engagement ring form a whole, created for each other and can be worn on one finger.
The small companion wedding rings can be made to fit most designs - feel free to be inspired by some of the handmade bridal sets we have created.
Wedding sets are very common in English-speaking countries, especially the USA, where the engagement ring is traditionally the “fine” one with the big diamond. Here in Denmark, we have more of a tradition for the engagement ring to be the ”light version” and then you make something extra out of the wedding rings.
The tradition of wearing a beautiful engagement ring as something special is catching on here at Eroupa and the challenge arises: which hand should it go on? Do you move the engagement ring to the other hand and then it's a wedding ring? Or should there be BOTH an engagement ring AND a wedding ring? Then two out of ten fingers are taken and what if you like to wear other rings?
This is where bridal sets have a big advantage, because they combine the ”nice” engagement ring with a small ring - the wedding ring - that is carefully customised to the design, which together now form a whole.
We build both bridal sets in series (within the Customised Programme) that can be adapted to your wishes and also as unique pieces created just for you. Because every couple is unique and should have the option of wedding rings that are customised for them.
The Hiding Heart solitaire ring and its companion ring Hooked on You have a classic look, even though the collection is still soft and features a closed setting, entirely in line with Castens’ other designs. The engagement ring is customisable, meaning you can choose the metal, finish, and stone yourself. The collection is based on a classic solitaire with a heart that hides on the side – Hiding Heart.
